    It’s Fun!

YouthNet is fun for both young people and adults. Volunteers can participate in a variety of in-school activities which include sharing lunch with a student, reading to a student in class, playing games, just ‘talking’, and being a trusted friend who listens. You can volunteer with a group of students or one-to-one and choose the age groups you enjoy.

    It’s Flexible

YouthNet accommodates the busy schedules of today’s volunteers.

    • It’s one lunch hour a week
    • No holidays, no summers!
    • Weekend and evening involvement limited to YouthNet events: 2-4 per year

    It Makes the Difference

Studies show the presence of a positive adult role model in a young person’s life:

    • Builds confidence
    • Encourages students to set and achieve goals
    • Helps students succeed

    Commitment

The commitment is for one academic year, a total of 35 hours and an equivalent of less than one working week.
